Refund and cancellation policy
Rules for deposits, programme fees, open-day places, and on-site training booked with Alderway Industrial Engineering School Ltd.
Eligibility overview
Refunds depend on how early you cancel, whether teaching has started, and whether materials or mentor time have already been committed. Open-day reservations do not carry a fee; programme deposits and tuition do.
Timeframes
- 14 or more days before a short course or CPD series start: full refund of fees paid, minus any non-refundable deposit stated on your invoice (usually £75 for open short courses).
- 7–13 days before start: 50% refund of tuition; deposit retained.
- Fewer than 7 days or after start: no tuition refund, except where we cancel the programme or you have a documented medical emergency assessed case by case.
Diploma programme
Diploma deposits secure a studio place. Deposits are refundable in full if you withdraw 28 or more days before Term 1 induction. After that point deposits are non-refundable. Term fees already invoiced are refundable on a pro-rata basis only for full terms not yet begun; once a term has started, that term’s fee is non-refundable.
Partial refunds
If we move a course date and you cannot attend the new date, you may transfer once or receive a full refund of amounts paid for that booking. If only part of a multi-day open course is delivered due to our cancellation, we refund the undelivered days or offer a makeup session.
Non-refundable items
- Consumed layout kits and printed packs once issued
- Mentor honoraria already paid for diploma capstones underway
- Travel you arranged independently for plant or warehouse visits
- Deposits marked non-refundable on the invoice after the stated window
How to request a refund
Email info@appalderway.click with your booking reference, programme name, and reason. We confirm eligibility within five working days and process approved refunds within 14 working days to the original payment method.
Cancellation by Alderway
If we cancel a programme for low enrolment or tutor illness, you receive a full refund or a free transfer to a later date of your choice.
Rescheduling and no-shows
Open short-course places may be transferred once to a later published date if you give at least seven days’ notice. No-shows without notice forfeit the fee. On-site training dates can be moved once without charge if notice is given 14 or more days ahead; later moves may incur a rescheduling fee covering tutor travel already booked.
Work already started
Custom curriculum preparation for on-site cohorts begun after you approve the outline is chargeable even if delivery is later cancelled by the client. We itemise preparation time on the quote.
